Bahrain Participates in Papal Inauguration Ceremony at the Vatican

On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), participated in the inauguration ceremony of His Holiness Pope Robert Prevost (Leo XIV) held today at St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.

The event was attended by a number of world leaders, dignitaries, and prominent figures. During the ceremony, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman conveyed the congratulations and well-wishes of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. The leadership extended their hopes for success in continuing the Vatican's humanitarian mission of promoting values of fraternity and global cooperation for the betterment of humanity.

His Highness also emphasized the longstanding and deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Vatican, noting the joint efforts in promoting coexistence, harmony, and mutual understanding among nations. He highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with the Vatican and advancing it to new levels to serve global humanitarian causes and enhance dialogue, peace, and tolerance worldwide.

Furthermore, His Highness reaffirmed Bahrain’s steadfast approach under the leadership of His Majesty the King to foster interfaith and intercultural dialogue. He reiterated the Kingdom’s ongoing support for international initiatives aimed at promoting peace and mutual understanding. This commitment, he noted, reflects His Majesty’s visionary leadership and the efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to position Bahrain as a global hub for human dialogue and tolerance.
