Sewage coverage in Juffair’s fourth constituency has hit nearly 99 per cent, with a multimillion-dinar project now linking the final properties and adding roads, bike paths, and parking.

Works Minister, His Excellency Ebrahim Al Hawaj, said the ministry had reached 98.83 per cent coverage of developed properties in Constituency Four of the Capital Governorate, with overall connection across the governorate now standing at 92.95 per cent.

The remaining properties are being connected through an ongoing project in Block 324 in Juffair, which includes the construction of a new sewage network to serve buildings that are still off-grid.

System

The works form part of a wider infrastructure programme and are aimed at bringing all inhabited properties in the area onto the system.

Responding to a parliamentary question from MP Hassan Bukhamas, Al Hawaj said the ministry is continuing its rollout according to a work plan based on several criteria: the level of development in each area, technical readiness for construction, and coordination with service providers.

He added that infrastructure development across the capital is progressing in tandem, with several projects completed, others ongoing, and some still in planning stages.
