Following the collapse of a neighboring building due to a gas cylinder explosion, the Jaffari Endowments Directorate is taking swift action to restore the Amir Al Mu’mineen Mosque and the Al Hajj Abbas Al Aradi Matam in the Arad area.
As per a statement issued by the Directorate, a delegation from the executive management, conducted a field visit to the sites to assess the damage.
“The Directorate is committed to supporting and developing mosques and matams, enabling them to fulfill their mission. The fire damage to the Al Hajj Abbas Matam was limited to material losses, while the mosque sustained more extensive damage,” Eng. Mohammed Jaffar Al Hussaini who works at the Directorate said.
He revealed that, based on the directives of the Head of Jaffari Endowments Directorate, the mosque and matam will be rehabilitated.
“An engineering firm will be appointed to assess the structural integrity of the mosque and determine the necessary maintenance for both the mosque and the matam,” he explained.
