Two sentenced for 3-year jail for rioting, arson

The High Criminal Court has sentenced two Bahraini defendants to three years behind bars for possessing firebombs and rioting in Bani Jamra. 

The defendants were said to have torched three tyres, disrupting the road traffic in the area. 

Investigations led to identify the duo’s responsibility in the incident, and they have been arrested. 

According to court files, the first defendant has admitted to committing the crime, and the involvement of his co-defendant. 

Prosecutors charged them with arson, putting people’s lives and property at danger, participating in an illegal gathering with the purpose of harming the public security and possessing firebombs.
