Weather not so harsh, says Met Department

The Kingdom has already embraced the summer season, experiencing hot and humid weather throughout the day.
While the people are finding it difficult to come out of their houses during daytime, the soft drink sellers are making merry due to increased demand for cool beverages.
The Meteorological Department of Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication said the Kingdom is experiencing hot southeasterly wind, which raised the maximum temperature to 43° Celsius on Friday.
The Met Department added the temperature may not reach extreme levels in the next few days.
“Moderate to fresh northwesterly wind during the day is expected to dominate for the next few days with variation in speed,” said the official of the Met Department, adding the temperature will remain normal for the rest of this month.
The weatherman also added the average maximum temperature for May is 34 °C and the minimum is 26° C, suggesting last Saturday’s maximum temperature was 9°C higher than the average maximum temperature.
