HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister attends the Al Raffah Media Festival
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today attended the Al Raffah Media Festival, held at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club (REHC), in Al Raffah.
The Festival featured three races: the Al Raffah Media Cup, the Celebrate Bahrain Cup, and the NAD Holding Cup.
Winners of the cups were announced, and Mrs. Sarah Ahmed Buheji, CEO of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), presented the Celebrate Bahrain Cup to Abdullah Fawzi Nass, while His Highness Shaikh Nader bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa received the NAD Holding Cup and Al Raffah Media Cup from Mr. Mohammed Haji, Deputy CEO of NAD Holding.
The racing evening saw a remarkable public turnout at this national media event, which brought together the joy of celebrating national holidays with honoring Bahraini media. This unique initiative, launched by the Club for the first time, introduced Al Raffah Media Cup in appreciation and recognition of the dedicated service and outstanding contributions of Bahraini media professionals. The initiative comes as part of the Club's diverse and ongoing programs during the horseracing season.
The evening also included thrilling competitions and strong victories, adding an exciting dimension to the entertaining and varied activities that continue to distinguish the Club’s weekly horse races.
The results of the rounds were as follows:
Round 1: The horse Obeyan 1893, from Al Wasmiya Stables, achieved his first victory this season after a strong performance in the Arabian Purebred Horses Race.
Round 2: The horse South China Sea from Al Adiyat Stables achieved his first victory in the second round, with a successful ride by the jockey Ebrahim Nader who took the lead in the Bahrain Bred Horses Race.
Round 3: The horse Call of Duty, owned by M&E Racing, won his first victory after an outstanding performance in the Bahrain Bred Handicap Race.
Round 4: The horse Asaaff, owned by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, won the Bahrain Bred Handicap Race after a close fight near the finish line.
Round 5: Gulf Racing's horse Athan continued his impressive successes by securing his second consecutive victory this season as he won the Celebrate Bahrain Cup for imported horses, sponsored by BTEA, after a strong performance.
Round 6: The horse Hattab gifted His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa the second win of the racing evening, ridden by the jockey Ebrahim Nader who continued his strong form with three wins.
Round 7: The favorite horse Hot Dancer from Al Mohamediya Racing managed to win the NAD Holding Cup for imported horses, which is his second consecutive victory, after a thrilling competition with the horse Al Shababi.
Round 8: The horse Western from Al Mohamediya Racing won the first edition of Al Raffah Media Cup after a strong competition and a fast-paced battle in the imported horses round.
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court and Chairman of the High Committee of the REHC; His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the REHC, and member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; along with several senior officials, and representatives of the event's sponsors also attended the Festival.
