Five public tenders have been opened by the Tender Board, drawing 22 bids in total.

One of them, from the Ministry of Works, seeks a full overhaul of Dair Primary Intermediate Girls School. The ministry said the job covers civil and building work such as internal and external painting, repairing cracks, fixing ceilings and floors, repairing or replacing doors and windows, and refurbishing bathrooms.
It said the package also includes mechanical work to upgrade water networks and replace water tanks, alongside electrical work to refurbish the electrical room, replace distribution boards and lighting, and renew the fire system. Six bids were received, with the lowest at BD491,000.
The Electricity and Water Authority has also put out a tender to upgrade a 66kV feeder relay panel at main power transmission stations that have been running for more than 20 years. Four bids were received, with the lowest at BD253,000. In a second tender, the authority’s General Services and Central Stores Directorate is seeking the supply of water fittings (bend, tee and puddle flange). Two bids were submitted, with the lowest at BD138,000.
The Ministry of Education, meanwhile, is seeking durable, high-quality classroom furniture, saying the request covers all classroom furniture and related items and must meet the technical specifications and safety standards in the tender conditions. Five bids were received, with the lowest at BD69,000.
Bapco Refining has also floated a tender to buy column trays for the 4ACDU unit for maintenance and inspection work in 2027. It received five bids, with the lowest at BD62,000.
