Ensuring support for Bahraini pilgrims

The Cabinet discussed the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the relevant entities to support Bahraini pilgrims participating in the Hajj pilgrimage by providing them with the necessary services.

Chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, yesterday at Gudaibiya Palace, the Cabinet reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments regarding the administrative and medical preparations made by the concerned authorities to provide the best services for Bahraini pilgrims to facilitate their pilgrimage and commended the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to care for the pilgrims.

During its weekly meeting, the Cabinet also discussed and approved a memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft decision on the allocation of some areas in Wadi Al-Buhair for nature reserves.

To mark the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday, the Cabinet extended Eid greetings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Salman, the people of Bahrain, as well as Arab and Islamic nations.

Power project

The Cabinet highlighted the importance of opening of the Reactive Power Compensation Project at the Riffa station in conjunction with the celebration of the silver jubilee of HM the King’s ascension to the throne, adding that the project will further the advancement and efficiency of the Kingdom’s infrastructure and electrical network and increase production capacity.

It noted the loan agreement to finance the 400-kilovolt transmission line development project between the government of Bahrain and the Kuwait Fund for Development.

The project is part of the Kingdom’s commitment to support infrastructure development programmes and plans that contribute to the growth of vital sectors, adding that infrastructural projects are an essential foundation for achieving sustainable economic growth.

Congratulations

The Cabinet extended its congratulations to students across all educational levels following the end of the 2023/2024 academic year and thanked their parents, the Ministry of Education, and its educational and administrative staff for their efforts in serving and supporting the sector, throughout the academic year.
