Pak to get King Hamad Hospital

Manama

Works for establishing new King Hamad University Hospital in Islamabad will commence in a month, said Pakistan Ambassador to Bahrain, Muhammad Saeed Khan in an exclusive interview with DT News at his office in Hoora yesterday.

Commenting on the fighting in Yemen, he said at the interview that the Huthis of Yemen have got an edge only because of the high mountains quite fit for the guerilla war.

Khan had been ambassador in Maldives before his appointment in Bahrain. An experienced diplomat, who had made his mark in the field, had worked in different diplomatic positions in North Korea, Yemen, Nepal, India and Germany.

Lauding Bahrain’s approach and hospitality towards foreigners and foreign officials, he said that King Hamad is a father head and benevolent monarch and the diplomats here in the Kingdom were honoured and treated very well.

Responding to a question, he said that Pakistan community in Maldives was comparatively less in numbers but greater in passion and enthusiasm.

The ambassador said that they were a very tolerant community who had learnt the art of unity and they knew how to live together even with differences.

Whenever the situation demanded they would set aside their differences to come afore helping each other.

Commenting on establishing a transportation system and culture between Pakistan and their neighbour India, labelled as the former’s arch-foe, he said that India taking a step forward could make that concept into reality.

Talking about the countries where he had once served, he said that Germany was a strong industrialist country and Pakistan needed to maintain strong relation with them. Germans could help Pakistan in dealing with European Union, the Ambassador suggested.

Talking about North Korea, he said it was a secluded country going through hard times, yet the people were very courageous.

“They don’t have any concept of private ownership. They don’t trust anybody and always keep on spying.

The Koreans are not allowed to talk to the foreigners on telephone,” he said. He added that even the local employees of Pakistan Embassy in North Korea were not allowed to talk to them on the telephone.
