Kuwait Amir urges new MPs to fulfill people's aspirations

His Highness the Amir Shaikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah has inaugurated the National Assembly's 16th legislative session, urging MPs to fulfil the aspirations of the people who elected them.
The Amir told the lawmakers that the people have placed a huge burden upon their shoulders for the sake of achieving development, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.
The region and the world are witnessing crucial circumstances, and the MPs should exercise genuine democracy and to be a role model and achievers, he said.
The parliament members should "work as one team, shoulder-to-shoulder" in order to have a prosperous and secure nation, the Amir added.
HH Shaikh Nawaf paid tribute to the contributions of the late Amir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, and reaffirmed keenness to follow on his path.
