Madrid: Raúl Asencio, a Real Madrid defender, was found guilty of drink-driving after admitting to driving under the influence in Gran Canaria.

On August 16, Asencio was stopped at a regular traffic checkpoint in San Bartolomé de Tirajana and found to have 0.90 mg/l of alcohol in his breath, nearly four times Spain's legal limit of 0.25 mg/l.

The 23-year-old admitted to the allegations during a fast-track hearing on August 19. He was compelled to pay a €14,400 fine and have his driving license suspended for eight months.

The conviction comes as Asencio faces another court case stemming from the alleged transmission of a nonconsensual sexual video involving two young ladies, one of whom was a juvenile.
