Ex-Pak PM Imran Khan Returned to Jail After Health Check

Islamabad: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan returned to Adiala Jail on Friday following a medical examination at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. The relocation followed a Supreme Court judgement instructing authorities to transport him to a private hospital for evaluation.
According to Pakistan Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, a team consisting of an ophthalmologist, cardiologist, and physician examined Khan and determined that he was medically fit to remain in jail. Khan's sister was there throughout the examination.
Khan's lawyers and allies have expressed alarm over his failing health, namely the suspected visual loss in his right eye. The government has claimed that medical evaluations do not indicate a condition that requires emergency care.
Khan, 73, has been imprisoned since August 2023 yet remains a prominent political figure in Pakistan. He denies the charges against him, saying they are politically driven.
