Four Arrested in $300K Watch Heist in France

Paris: French police have arrested four Spanish suspects following the theft of a luxury watch valued at $300,000 from a Brazilian tourist in the French Riviera hotspot of Saint-Tropez.
The high-value timepiece was snatched on Friday, but police in the Var region successfully recovered the watch, which will be returned to its owner.
Following the theft, the suspects allegedly fled by car and were pursued along the winding roads surrounding the Gulf of Saint-Tropez before being apprehended in the nearby town of Cogolin.
The incident highlights a recurring seasonal issue in Saint-Tropez, a magnet for celebrities and millionaires that routinely attracts organized gangs seeking to target expensive watches and jewelry.
Local gendarmerie reported that around 15 luxury watches have already been reported stolen in the Saint-Tropez area since the start of the season.
