Canada Wildfires Escalate: One Dead, Thousands Evacuated

British Columbia: Wildfires continue to spread quickly across western Canada, forcing thousands of Canadians to flee as firefighters battle to suppress flames fuelled by hot, dry, and windy conditions. Authorities reported that one woman died in the wildfires.
Authorities have cautioned residents in affected areas to ‘brace for the worst’ as numerous flames remain out of control. One individual was killed while attempting to evacuate the wildfire, raising concerns about the worsening catastrophe.
More than 20,000 people have been asked to leave their homes, with evacuation orders and advisories issued throughout British Columbia. The fast growing Bald Range wildfire has emerged as one of the most serious hazards.
Crews from outside Canada have been sent in to support the operation, but officials say the harsh weather is making firefighting efforts more challenging. Residents in regions at danger are still urged by authorities to obey evacuation orders and be ready to move out at any time.
