IAEA raises alarm over repeated power losses at Ukraine nuclear plant

Vienna: The UN nuclear watchdog has expressed alarm over a spike in power losses at a Ukrainian nuclear power station, warning that recurrent disruptions could pose further challenges to nuclear safety amid the ongoing conflict.

The IAEA has frequently stated that nuclear plants must have consistent access to power, even when reactors are not operational, because electricity is required to keep vital equipment running.
