Washington: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed his first White House meeting with US President Donald Trump since the Iran war began as "one of the best conversations I've ever had with the president of the United States," saying the talks focused on their shared goal of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
The leaders discussed Iran, the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon, and broader regional security during their first face-to-face meeting since the outbreak of the Iran war. The talks also came amid reports of differences over strategy towards Tehran.
Netanyahu said the meeting reaffirmed close coordination between Israel and the United States, while the White House described the discussions as positive and focused on strengthening regional stability.
The meeting marked the eighth time Trump and Netanyahu have met since Trump returned to office, as both leaders seek to shape the next phase of US-Israel cooperation in the Middle East.
