New Delhi: Three people have died after two under-construction buildings collapsed in Rohini Sector 16 in north-west Delhi, triggering a major rescue operation amid heavy rain. Several labourers are still feared trapped beneath the debris.

The collapse occurred on Wednesday afternoon, prompting the deployment of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Delhi Police, Fire Services and other emergency teams. Rescue personnel have pulled survivors from the rubble and continue to search for those believed to be trapped.

The first victim, identified as 42-year-old Ram Kishore, was pulled from the debris and declared dead at hospital. Two more victims later succumbed to their injuries, taking the death toll to three. At least one labourer has been rescued alive.

Authorities evacuated nearby buildings to allow rescue teams to work safely. The cause of the collapse is under investigation, though the incident occurred during a spell of heavy rainfall that has affected several parts of Delhi.
