Trump Declares Iran Ceasefire 'Over' as Fighting Escalates

Ankara, Turkey: US President Donald Trump said the ceasefire with Iran is "over" and dismissed further negotiations with Tehran as a "waste of time", as fresh military strikes pushed tensions between the two countries even higher.
Speaking at the NATO Summit alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Trump made the remarks after the United States launched new strikes on Iranian targets. He said the attacks were carried out in response to Iran's alleged actions against commercial vessels in the region.
The US Central Command said its forces targeted Iranian air defence systems, command centres, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities and dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps boats to reduce Iran's ability to threaten international shipping.
Iran responded by launching attacks on US military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and other Gulf countries, further escalating the conflict. The renewed fighting has raised fears that efforts to ease tensions between Washington and Tehran have collapsed.
