Qatar condemns Iran for 'unacceptable assault' on LNG tanker

Doha: Qatar has formally condemned Iran following an ‘unacceptable assault’ on its liquefied natural gas tanker, Al-Rekayyat, near the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Doha declared the strike an explicit violation of international law that directly threatens global energy security and safe maritime navigation.
In a sharp diplomatic response, Qatari officials demanded that the Islamic Republic of Iran immediately cease all hostile practices that undermine regional security and endanger international shipping channels.
Doha emphasised that Iran is acting in pursuit of narrow interests at the expense of regional stability. Furthermore, Qatar announced it holds Tehran fully legally responsible for the unprovoked attack, stating it will seek full accountability for all resulting structural damages and broader geopolitical consequences.
