Qatar has condemned an unlawful attack on the Qatari vessel Al-Rekayyat while it transited waters near the Strait of Hormuz, holding Iran fully responsible for the incident and any resulting damages.

In a strongly worded statement, Doha described the targeting of the vessel as a direct assault on international maritime security and global energy supplies, calling it a clear violation of international law and the principles governing freedom of navigation.

Qatar called on the Islamic Republic of Iran to immediately halt actions it described as destabilizing regional security and endangering energy resources across the region.
"We hold it fully legally responsible for this attack and for any resulting damages and consequences," the statement read.
