Kyiv: A woman wanted by Interpol for a high-profile parcel bombing in Monaco was found shot dead with head wounds in Ukraine, national police announced Tuesday.

The deceased, 39-year-old Anastasiia Berezovska, was suspected of the attempted murder of a Ukrainian-born tycoon, his partner, and their teenage son last month. The targeted victims are believed to be wealthy businessman Vadym Yermolaiev and his family.

Ukrainian authorities have detained an active intelligence officer and a former law enforcement officer on suspicion of her murder.

Cryptocurrency transfers to Berezovska were uncovered during the probe, and a suspected torture room was discovered in the accomplice's basement.

The intelligence officer reportedly hid his financial ties to Berezovska from superiors. Ukrainian police have shared all evidence with Monaco authorities.
