La Paz: Former Bolivian President Evo Morales has denied terrorism and violent rebellion charges against him, describing the allegations as politically motivated amid rising tensions in the South American country.
The allegations originate from recent anti-government protests and roadblocks that have plagued portions of Bolivia. Authorities accuse Morales of encouraging unrest to destabilise the government.
Morales denied any involvement in arranging violent protests, claiming that he has not supported acts of terrorism or insurrection. He claimed the prosecution is an attempt to suppress him and undermine his political influence.
