Meta debuts new, cheaper smart glasses under its own brand

Washington DC: Meta has officially launched its new, in-house AI smart glasses, signaling a major strategic push into the wearable technology market. The glasses, starting at $299, mark a shift for the company by moving to proprietary branding rather than relying on previous Ray-Ban or Oakley partnerships.

Available in three styles, the rectangular ‘Meta Adventurer,’ the boxy ‘Meta Fury,’ and the oval ‘Meta Glasses by Kylie’ the devices are designed to blend fashion with functionality. Key hardware features include an onboard camera, personal speakers, an 8-hour battery, and a 40-hour charging case.

Users can activate the built-in Meta AI assistant with a dedicated button to handle daily tasks, pedestrian navigation, and live translation in 14 languages. 

By launching this proprietary range, Meta aims to solidify its position as a leader in the fast-paced race to integrate artificial intelligence into everyday consumer hardware.
