BEIJING: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for Pakistan and China to ‘really be together’ in restoring peace to the Middle East during an official meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Beijing. Addressing high-level talks on delegation, the Prime Minister emphasised that global conflicts require a unified strategic response from both nations.
The Prime Minister highlighted Pakistan’s sincere role in facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran, stating that things are moving in the right direction. He noted that substantial ground has already been covered through diplomatic bridge-building efforts to resolve the complex Gulf crisis.
The Beijing meeting also reinforced the strong strategic partnership between Islamabad and Beijing. Alongside discussing regional stability, the two leaders witnessed the signing of multiple agreements to advance CPEC Phase-II, trade, investment, and bilateral cooperation.
