Qatar Airways Group Reports Strong Annual Profit Despite Global Challenges

Qatar Airways Group has reported a post-tax profit of QAR7.08 billion (US$1.94 billion) for the 2025/26 financial year, highlighting strong operational resilience despite global economic and geopolitical challenges.

The group carried more than 41.8 million passengers during the year while maintaining extensive global connectivity through Hamad International Airport.

Its cargo division transported over 1.43 million tonnes of freight, reinforcing its position as the world’s largest international air cargo carrier with a 12% global market share.

Qatar Airways also achieved an 86% on-time performance rate, earning the prestigious Cirium Platinum Award for Operational Excellence and ranking among the world’s top five most punctual airlines.

Hamad Al-Khater said the results reflected the group’s operational strength, resilient workforce and strong partnerships during a challenging year for the aviation industry.

Among the group’s major achievements during the financial year was a landmark agreement with Boeing and GE Aerospace for up to 210 aircraft and 400 engines.

The airline was also named the World’s Best Airline 2025 by Skytrax for a record ninth time.

Looking ahead, Qatar Airways plans to expand its network to more than 160 destinations by summer 2026 while continuing to enhance passenger connectivity and onboard services, including high-speed Starlink internet across its widebody fleet.
