CALIFORNIA: A former Google artificial intelligence engineer has accused the technology giant of unfair dismissal after being fired following his internal protests against the company's contracts with the Israeli government.

The engineer filed a formal complaint with labor regulators, asserting that his termination was a direct retaliation for organizing employee opposition to corporate involvement in military and state technology projects.

The internal dispute centered on Project Nimbus, a billion-dollar cloud computing and artificial intelligence initiative jointly developed by Google and Amazon for the Israeli military and government.

The engineer had actively participated in internal advocacy groups and distributed protest materials, arguing that the technology could be utilized to violate human rights.

Google defended its decision by stating that the employee was terminated for violating internal security policies and disrupting workplace operations, rather than for the content of his political views. Legal representatives for the engineer maintain that his workplace advocacy constitutes protected concerted activity under labor laws.
