Qatar Says Drone Targeted Commercial Cargo Vessel Near Mesaieed Port
The Ministry of Defence of Qatar announced that a commercial cargo vessel was targeted by a drone while sailing in Qatari territorial waters northeast of Mesaieed Port.
According to the ministry, the vessel was travelling from Abu Dhabi when the incident occurred, resulting in a limited fire onboard.
The Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported that no injuries were recorded following the attack.
Authorities said the fire was successfully brought under control and the vessel was able to continue its journey toward Mesaieed Port.
The Ministry of Defence added that the necessary measures were immediately taken and coordination was carried out with the relevant authorities following the incident.
