California: Google says its AI systems powered by Gemini AI helped stop around 8.2 billion ads that violated its policies last year.
The company said its improved systems can better understand advertiser intent and detect suspicious activity earlier, allowing harmful or misleading ads to be blocked before users see them.
According to Google’s annual Ads Safety Report, more than 99% of policy-breaking ads were stopped before appearing online.
Google also made 35 updates to its advertising rules in 2025 to tackle evolving scam tactics and misleading marketing practices.
Officials said the AI system analyses huge amounts of data signals, including advertiser behaviour and campaign patterns, to identify potential abuse and improve ad safety.
