South Korean authorities have successfully deported a 44-year-old Thai national, identified as ‘Mr. T,’ who is alleged to be the leader of a massive international narcotics syndicate. Captured in Seoul’s Gangnam district on Monday the suspect had managed to evade justice for over a decade despite Thai authorities issuing fifty separate arrest warrants.
The scale of the criminal operation is unprecedented, with the network linked to the distribution of 11.5 tons of methamphetamine and 271 million Yaba pills.
Valued at approximately $3.1 billion, the narcotics supply was reportedly sufficient for 380 million users. The kingpin maintained his 25-year criminal career by utilizing third-country passports to move across borders undetected.
The successful capture resulted from a ten-day joint operation involving South Korea's National Intelligence Service and Thailand’s narcotics control board.
This high-profile deportation underscores a significant victory for regional law enforcement and highlights the growing effectiveness of international cooperation in dismantling powerful transnational drug cartels.
