WASHINGTON DC:The Pentagon has confirmed that 365 U.S. service members have been wounded since the launch of ‘Operation Epic Fury,’ the ongoing military campaign targeting Iranian-linked assets and maritime threats.
The updated casualty count, released on Friday, reflects the mounting human cost of the sustained aerial and naval engagement in the region.
The majority of the injuries occurred during missile and drone strikes against U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria, as well as during naval skirmishes in the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. Defense Department officials stated that while many of the wounded have returned to duty, a significant number required medical evacuation for specialized treatment of traumatic brain injuries and shrapnel wounds.
Operation Epic Fury was initiated as a direct response to repeated attacks on commercial shipping and U.S. military installations. The Pentagon maintained that the mission remains focused on degrading the offensive capabilities of adversary militias and ensuring the free flow of commerce through strategic waterways.
Despite the rising casualty figures, the U.S. administration has signaled that the operation will continue until its security objectives are met. The report comes amid heightened domestic debate regarding the scale of the commitment and calls for a clearer diplomatic exit strategy to prevent further escalation in the Middle East.
