An aircraft crashed in the central Mexican state of Puebla on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of all four people on board. The single-engine Cessna 172 went down in an industrial park in the municipality of Huejotzingo shortly after departing from Hermanos Serdán International Airport.
According to the Federal Civil Aviation Agency, the aircraft lost communication with air traffic control minutes into its flight toward Poza Rica, Veracruz.
Witnesses reported seeing the plane struggle at a low altitude before nosediving into a field. Three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the fourth died during transport for medical care. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash, with some reports indicating the plane may have been linked to a flight training school.
