Kuwait City: A fire broke out at Kuwait’s Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery early Friday following multiple drone attacks, according to the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.
State news agency Kuwait News Agency reported that several refinery units were shut down after “hostile drone attacks” struck the facility, triggering fires in parts of the complex. Emergency teams were deployed to contain the blaze, and authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported.
Air raid sirens sounded across Kuwait as the military worked to counter ongoing missile and drone threats, with regional tensions continuing to escalate.
The attack comes amid a broader surge in strikes across Gulf energy infrastructure. Iran has intensified its operations in recent days, targeting key oil and gas facilities, including sites in Qatar, in retaliation for Israeli strikes on its South Pars gas field.
Elsewhere in the region, Bahrain reported a fire at a warehouse caused by falling debris from what officials described as “Iranian aggression,” though no injuries were recorded.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also claimed responsibility for missile and drone strikes targeting US forces at the Al Dhafra Air Base, as well as sites in Israel.
