Jerusalem: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the Israeli Air Force carried out a strike on a facility linked to Iran’s nuclear programme, targeting the Taleghan compound within the Parchin Military Complex.
According to the IDF, the site was used by the Iranian regime to advance nuclear weapons capabilities, including the development of advanced explosives and sensitive experiments connected to the covert AMAD project, which Israel says was aimed at developing nuclear weapons.
According to Reuters, the Taleghan facility is located about 30 kilometres southeast of Tehran. Since the start of the conflict between Israel and Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump has said one of the objectives of the war is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Last week, the IDF also announced a strike on another site known as Minzadeheian, where it alleged Iranian scientists were secretly developing a key component required for nuclear weapons.
