Gerash: A magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck near the city of Gerash in southern Iran on Tuesday, adding to an already tense situation as US and Israeli military strikes continue across the country.
The tremor occurred at a shallow depth of around 10 kilometres, making it more likely to have been felt in surrounding areas. However, there were no immediate reports of significant damage or casualties.
The affected area lies within Iran’s Zagros seismic belt, a tectonically active region where earthquakes are relatively common due to ongoing plate movement.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation.
