In a significant security sweep ahead of New Year celebrations, the Delhi Police executed Operation Aaghat 3.0, resulting in the arrest of 285 individuals for violations involving illegal liquor, drugs, and gambling. Led by DCP South East Hemant Tiwari, the crackdown targeted criminal activities to maintain law and order, leading to the detention of over 500 people under preventive measures and the arrest of 116 identified "bad characters."

The operation yielded a massive haul of contraband and weaponry, including 21 country-made pistols, 27 knives, and over 12,000 quarts of illicit liquor. In addition to seizing 6kg of cannabis and over ₹2.3 lakh in cash, police recovered a significant amount of stolen property, including 310 mobile phones and 232 vehicles. This coordinated effort serves as a proactive measure to ensure public safety during the high-traffic holiday period.
