UAE Launches First Licensed Online Gaming & Sports Betting Platform
Dubai: The UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) has approved its first internet gaming and sports betting site, Play971, operated by Abu Dhabi-based Coin Technology Projects LLC. The platform offers casino games, eSports, fantasy games, and legal sports betting on football, cricket, tennis, and more.
Players must be 21+ and physically in the UAE, with responsible gaming measures in place.
This marks the 19th licence issued by the GCGRA since September 2023, covering online gaming, lotteries, sports wagering and land-based resorts.
Only licensed operators can run commercial gaming; violations are penalized.
