Musk stated that work will no longer be a necessity for humans within 10 to 20 years, but will become a ‘choice’ like exercising or pursuing hobbies, given the ability of intelligent robots to perform most productive and service tasks more efficiently and at a lower cost. He added that this transformation will lead to a significant decline in the importance of traditional money, asserting that currencies may lose a large part of their value and role as the global economy changes and automation increases.
