Dense fog drastically reduces visibility: Red alerts issued in the UAE
Manama: Dense fog is clouding different parts of the country, making visibility difficult. Following the weather update, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a Red Alert about the drop in visibility and possible risks. Due to the resulting slower-than-usual traffic pace, the dense fog has disrupted daily life in the UAE. Marking the lowest temperature of the season so far, Al Ain recorded 7.8°C.
During the heavy fog, to help motorists, Abu Dhabi Police activated the speed reduction system on several roads and advised drivers to exercise caution and take precaution during their daily commutes, and to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards. According to NCM, temperatures are expected to reach lows of 23°C and 21°C respectively, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
