Record Camel Auction Marks Vibrant Third Day of ADIHEX 2025
The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) wrapped up its third day on a high note, drawing crowds with cultural showcases, thrilling auctions, and interactive workshops that celebrated Emirati traditions in a modern setting.
One of the biggest highlights was the 52nd Arabian Camel Auction, where sales soared past AED 1.77 million. Since its first edition in 2005, the auction has been a centerpiece of ADIHEX, spotlighting purebred Arabian camels admired for their beauty and racing prowess. The event once again attracted breeders, enthusiasts, and curious visitors, underlining the camel’s deep cultural and economic importance in the UAE.
“The atmosphere was full of excitement,” one attendee remarked. “It wasn’t just about bidding—it was about heritage, pride, and passion for these animals.”
But camels weren’t the only stars of the day. The exhibition also shined a light on desert adventures, with car dealerships and manufacturers showcasing rugged off-road vehicles and caravans. RV Bin Lahej, this year’s official sponsor for the recreational vehicle sector, drew attention with exclusive discounts of up to 50% on outdoor mobile homes—making dreams of desert camping more accessible to visitors.
Falconry, another beloved Emirati tradition, also took center stage. Three lucky winners went home with falcons after special raffles, offering a once-in-a-lifetime chance to connect with the art form that has shaped Emirati hunting culture for thousands of years. In addition, Dr. Zubair Mudmal, a leading falconry expert with over three decades of experience, delivered a captivating talk on the history and preservation of falconry—highlighting conservation efforts that continue to protect wild falcons today.
The day also featured hands-on learning. Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Hood Al Shanqeeti from Abu Dhabi Police Medical Services led a workshop on wilderness medicine, teaching participants essential survival and first aid skills for desert expeditions. Visitors left with practical knowledge—from handling medical emergencies in remote areas to understanding necessary vaccinations—that could make all the difference during outdoor adventures.
As the third day came to a close, ADIHEX 2025 once again proved why it’s more than just an exhibition. It’s a living celebration of heritage, knowledge, and innovation, ensuring traditions like camel racing and falconry continue to inspire generations while blending seamlessly with modern outdoor culture.
