LMRA Steps Up Labour Inspections Across Bahrain

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has intensified its efforts to enforce labour and residency laws across Bahrain, carrying out 1,317 inspection campaigns and visits between 24 and 30 August 2025.

During this period, nine irregular workers were detained, and 92 individuals were deported for violations. The inspections, targeting shops and businesses across all four governorates, also uncovered several breaches of labour and residency regulations, with legal action taken in all cases.

The latest operations included 1,303 shop visits and 14 joint campaigns, distributed as follows: five in the Capital Governorate, two in Muharraq, four in the Northern Governorate, and three in the Southern Governorate. These efforts were carried out in collaboration with several government agencies, including the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), governorate police directorates, the General Directorate of Traffic, the Social Insurance Organization, and the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications.

LMRA emphasized that this ongoing campaign reflects a strategic effort to protect the stability and competitiveness of Bahrain’s labour market while safeguarding the country’s economic and social security. The authority confirmed that inspections will continue across all governorates in coordination with partner government bodies.

The LMRA also urged the public to assist in reporting illegal labour practices through its online form at www.lmra.gov.bh, via the call centre at 17506055, or through the government’s Tawasul platform.
