Ukrainian forces have successfully regained control of three villages in the Donetsk region, which had been under Russian occupation, the country’s commander-in-chief, Oleksandr Syrsky, announced on Sunday.
In a social media post, Syrsky confirmed that Ukrainian troops had launched a counterattack and cleared the villages of Mykhailivka, Zelenyi Gai, and Volodymyrivka. “Our forces have successfully counterattacked and removed the enemy from these areas,” he said.
This development marks a significant step in Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to reclaim territory in the east.
