Netanyahu Announces Final Push to Take Control of Gaza
In a press conference held in Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared his vision for ending the conflict in Gaza. He announced that the Israeli military has been authorized to take control of the last two major Hamas-held areas in Gaza City and the southern region of Al Mawasi.
Netanyahu said, “About 70 to 75 percent of Gaza is already under Israeli military control, but two strongholds remain — Gaza City and Al Mawasi.” He added that the Israeli security cabinet has directed the army to dismantle these areas as quickly as possible, though he did not give a specific timeline.
When asked about growing criticism from other countries, including Germany’s decision to pause arms shipments to Israel, Netanyahu said Israel is ready to continue the fight even without outside support. “We will win the war, with or without the support of others,” he stated firmly.
The prime minister also assured that civilians in the targeted areas would be given a chance to safely evacuate. He explained that safe corridors would be set up so people could leave combat zones and access food, water, and medical care in designated safe areas.
Netanyahu emphasized, “Our goal has been to avoid a humanitarian crisis, while Hamas has worked to create one.”
