India shot down five Pakistani fighter jets and one other military aircraft during clashes in May, the Indian Air Force chief announced on Saturday. This is the first time India has publicly confirmed such details since the recent intense military conflict with Pakistan, which was one of the worst in decades between the two neighbors.
Indian Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh shared this information at an event in Bengaluru, saying that most of the Pakistani jets were taken down using India's Russian-made S-400 missile defense system. He also mentioned that electronic tracking data confirmed these successful strikes.
