Serein Psychiatric Hospital Receives Top National Accreditation for Quality and Governance

The Chief Executive of the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari, stressed the importance of continued collaboration in developing Bahrain’s healthcare sector, saying that achieving high standards of quality and efficiency requires joint efforts across both public and private sectors.

Speaking at a ceremony to award the national accreditation certificate, Dr. Al Ansari congratulated Dr. Abdulkarim Mustafa, CEO of Serein Psychiatric Hospital, after the facility earned the prestigious Diamond Classification. This recognition is a result of the hospital’s strong commitment to healthcare quality and governance standards.

“Private healthcare institutions play a vital role in strengthening the health system by upholding standards and improving performance,” said Dr. Al Ansari. “Their efforts help create a safer, more integrated treatment environment that benefits both citizens and residents.”

He commended Serein Hospital for its dedication and consistent work to elevate mental healthcare services in Bahrain. “Achieving this accreditation shows the hospital's serious commitment to delivering the highest levels of quality and accountability in patient care,” he added.

The National Accreditation granted by the NHRA is valid for four years and is part of the authority’s broader mission to promote transparency, excellence, and safety in Bahrain’s healthcare ecosystem.
