With the Eid Al Fitr holiday approaching, Sharjah Airport Authority has announced full operational readiness to handle an expected surge in passenger traffic. Between March 27 and April 6, more than 500,000 travelers are set to pass through Sharjah International Airport, with a total of 3,344 scheduled flights.
In anticipation of the increased passenger volume, the airport has implemented extensive measures to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Additional staff have been deployed across key areas, with a special focus on customer service, assisting senior citizens, children, and passengers with disabilities. Facilities and services have also been optimized to enhance efficiency and minimize wait times.
To facilitate hassle-free travel, the authority has encouraged passengers to take advantage of smart check-in options and self-service kiosks. Travelers are also advised to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled departure to allow sufficient time for check-in, security checks, and boarding procedures.
Sharjah International Airport continues to experience strong growth, having welcomed over 17 million passengers in 2024—an 11.4% increase from the previous year. With its commitment to operational excellence and passenger convenience, the airport remains a key hub for travelers during peak holiday seasons.
