UAE President and Pakistan PM Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

In a significant meeting today, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, who is visiting the UAE to participate in the World Governments Summit 2025.

Held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, the talks between the two leaders focused on deepening bilateral cooperation, with an emphasis on economic, trade, and development sectors. They explored opportunities for enhancing ties and identified collaborative efforts that align with both nations’ shared vision for sustainable economic growth and prosperity.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of the World Governments Summit as a platform for identifying global trends in governance, offering actionable strategies to improve government preparedness amidst global transformations. Both parties underscored the need to harness these developments to accelerate progress and create a better future for their people.

In addition to economic matters, the two leaders addressed several regional and international issues, particularly developments in the Middle East. They reiterated the importance of global cooperation in fostering lasting peace and stability, with a focus on a two-state solution as the path toward a secure and peaceful region.

Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its historical relationship with the UAE, with a particular focus on expanding cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, and economic development.

The meeting was attended by a number of high-ranking officials, including Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, among others.
