President Donald Trump is set to host King Abdullah II of Jordan at the White House today for high-level discussions focused on the rebuilding of Gaza and broader Middle Eastern concerns.
Among the key topics on the agenda is President Trump’s suggestion that Egypt and Jordan take in displaced Palestinians, as Gaza struggles to recover from the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. Jordan already hosts millions of Palestinians and has historically played a significant role in regional stability.
This meeting follows an earlier conversation between the two leaders shortly after President Trump’s inauguration. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated, “President Trump thanked King Abdullah for his longtime friendship, and the two leaders discussed the importance of regional peace, security, and stability.”
The talks come at a crucial time as the international community seeks solutions to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the broader geopolitical challenges in the region.
