‘Medathlon 2025’, the sixth annual inter-school competitive event, held by the American Mission Hospital, ended on Friday night, with the Asian School Bahrain, winning the overall championship and the ‘AMH Health is Wealth’ trophy, for the second time. The school had won this once earlier, in 2019.
About 20 schools and 400 students participated in this threeday event, which culminated in a grand finale on Friday, 21 November, at the hospital’s auditorium in A’Ali.
“After watching the high calibre of the speech contestants, I must congratulate not only the students but also the parents and the schools that are enabling this level of education in science,” said Dr Jameela Al Salman, member, Shura Council, who was the guest of honour for the closing ceremony.
“We are happy to see the community embracing our hospital’s initiative of promoting health awareness and scientific knowledge among school children,” said AMH Corporate CEO Dr George Cheriyan.
“This will soon become a national level competition with more schools participating in it,” he added, and appreciated Dr Babu Ramachandran and Dr Rama Krishna, the co-organisers and leaders of the event, for the exciting contests.
Speech Competitions, Quiz Contests, Short Film Contests, Med Zap (skits) and a Debate, exclusively for teachers, are among the competitions held over a period of three days – Preliminaries on Tuesday, 18 Nov and Wednesday, 19 November and the finals on Friday, 21 November.
