The New Millennium School Marks World Mental Health Day with Engaging Activities

The New Millennium School (NMS), Bahrain, demonstrated its commitment to mental health awareness by celebrating World Mental Health Day on 9 October 2025. The school organised a series of engaging activities aimed at raising awareness about mental well-being among students across all grade levels.

The day began with guided meditation sessions, where students, guided by their dedicated teachers, were introduced to simple mindfulness techniques. They practised breathing exercises and visualisation methods to help them relax and connect with their emotions.

Kindergarten students led the “Smile at NMS” campaign, encouraging peers and teachers to share smiles throughout the day. For the primary section, an interactive campaign titled “Mental Health Reminders” took centre stage, with students creating and displaying reminders around the school featuring simple yet powerful messages about mental well-being.

The event was a resounding success, with students actively participating and showing enthusiasm throughout the day. It highlighted the importance of mental health in education and demonstrated how students can support both their own well-being and that of their peers.

School Principal Dr Arun Kumar Sharma, in his address to the students, emphasised the significance of mental health in achieving a sustainable future. He reiterated that promoting mental well-being is a vital part of the holistic development of every student.

Chairman Dr Ravi Pillai and Managing Director Mrs Geetha Pillai praised the wholehearted efforts of both students and teachers in participating in such meaningful and enlightening campaigns.
