As part of the ‘Commerce Week Celebrations’, the students of Grades 11 and 12 (Commerce and Economics) from Bhavans – Bahrain Indian School (BIS) visited the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) on the 5th and 6th of October 2025. The educational visit aimed to provide students with firsthand exposure to the dynamic world of finance, banking, and economic policymaking.
During the visit, students gained valuable insights into the functions and operations of the Central Bank, including key areas such as monetary policy, financial regulation, fintech innovations, and digital banking trends. The sessions were made engaging through interactive presentations and discussions led by CBB officials and financial experts, who shared their professional experiences and explained the pivotal role of the Central Bank in Bahrain’s economic stability and growth.
Crypto currency’s role in CBB and how they use tools related to it was explained to the students through an excellent presentation. Students were taught the new policies implemented by CBB to safeguard private clientele information and regulate the functions and credibility of different crypto assets.
An additional highlight of the visit was a tour of the Currency Museum, where students explored the rich history and evolution of Bahrain’s currency, from early coinage to modern-day banknotes. The museum experience deepened their appreciation of the nation’s financial heritage and the importance of currency management in a country’s economic development.
These enriching sessions not only enhanced students’ financial literacy but also helped them bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world financial systems. The visit encouraged young learners to think critically about contemporary economic issues and to consider future careers in banking, finance, and economics.
The Commerce Department and students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the CBB authorities for their warm hospitality and to the school management for organizing such an insightful, inspiring, and educational experience. Directors Mr. Himanshu Verma and Mrs. Ritu Verma, and Principal Mr. Saji Jacob thanked Central Bank of Bahrain for providing students with enriching learning experience.
